Quantcast
I have 31 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. Register for free and you'll be able to post messages on this forum and also receive emails when $$$ MR. MARKET $$$ makes his own trades. ($$$MR. Default SCL Sold ==> 7 Winners in a row for $$$MR. MARKET$$$

Awww...shucks...well gosh darn if I didn't do it again! Today I sold SCL at $74.00. That's a 16% gain over my purchase price of $63.68 back on January 25th. That's a 16% gain in only 3 months...that's a 64% annualized return. Over the same period, the S&P 500 was only up 10%.

That's 7 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. Can you do that? You? YOU?? YOU??!!

I am HUGE! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses! I am the greatest stock picker on the planet. All I do is pick stocks that go up..up...up!!

How do I do it? I have a quantitative momentum model which picks winners again and again and again and again!

SCL ==> The Broken Finger Winner
Sometimes when youíre all happy, you go high steppiní.

Like when Deon Sanders made a pick 6, he was always happy.

With $$$MR. MARKET$$$, heís happy when heís making money. I wonít be doing any high steppiní, but today I bought Stepan Company at 63.68. I will sell it in 4 Ė 6 weeks at 73.42.

    Hereís why I like Stepan:

Wow! Look at this chart!!?? This stock is going to the moon Alice! Stepan is up 178% off of its 52 week low and yet its PE is only 12. Itís still cheap. The stock has price momentum and itís cheap. What does that mean? It means that the stock price is going to go up with very little downside risk. On top of that, it pays a 1.5% dividend. Owning Stepan is cheaper than cash!!

Stepan Company engages in the production and sale of specialty and intermediate chemicals. The company operates through three segments: Surfactants, Polymers, and Specialty Products. The Surfactants segment offers products that are principal ingredients in consumer and industrial cleaning products, such as detergents for washing clothes, dishes, carpets, floors, and walls, as well as shampoos, body washes, fabric softeners, and toothpastes. Its other applications include biodiesel, germicidal quaternary compounds, lubricating ingredients, emulsifiers for spreading agricultural products, and plastics and composites.

This one is easy. Stepan is a play on the economy. It makes stuff that everyone uses. When we start buying more stuff, its stock price goes up. When the economy turns up, chemicals should be among the first to rebound. Chemicals are historically early cycle in economic recoveries. China continues to be a market that offers huge potential growth for Stepan.

Stepan uses a network of production facilities in the Americas, Europe, China and the Philippines. Over the last 4 years, it has seen its revenues grow at a double digit rate. Net income has doubled and doubled again each year since 2006. Return on Equity is 18%.

Stepan is driving innovation, driving process improvements, driving global capabilities, and driving market strategies. They are not Driving Miss Daisy.

The dividend was increased by 9.1 percent to an annual rate of $0.96 per common share. This marks the forty-second consecutive annual dividend increase. Stepan has also significantly increased capital expenditures. Companies donít do that unless they are confident in their cash flow. The dividend is up to about 1.5%. Dividends make me happy.

In the most recent quarter, Net income for the quarter was $19.5 million, or $1.80 per diluted share, compared to $17.0 million, or $1.59 per diluted share, a year ago. The strong quarterly performance was attributable to lower commodity raw material costs, successful cost control initiatives and a desirable product mix for laundry and personal care products that have performed well during this economic downturn.

Gross profit increased by 61 percent to $68.9 million. Strong free cash flow from operations reduced debt, net of cash, from $126.3 million at December 31, 2008, to $37.4 million at September 30, 2009.

So while $$$MR. MARKET$$$ is high steppin his way to another winner, perhaps we can see what the boss has to say:
"Despite the economy, we began 2009 with the intent to drive results within each of our three business units and improve our performance. In each of the first three quarters, we delivered record net income as we benefitted from the relative stability of our large laundry and personal care markets for our surfactant products, falling commodity prices within all three business units and our ability to contain costs," said F. Quinn Stepan, Jr., President and Chief Executive Officer. "In the fourth quarter, earnings will be lower than the previous three quarters due to seasonal volume declines and acceleration of planned maintenance items including a planned 2010 shutdown of our phthalic anhydride (PA) plant in order to complete the work while the PA market remains slow. We are on track to deliver a record year in 2009 and are now focused on driving business growth in 2010."
    I am HUGE!!

Just a reminder: $$$Mr. Market$$$'s system is based on diversification. For this approach he invests in 14-15 stocks. That way the successes keep the system fresh and the laggards and losers can be tolerated. Don't put all your eggs in one basket, et cetera. Once in a while, when too much laggards have crept in, $$$Mr. Market$$$ does a cleanout, resets his streak and goes on picking more winners.

Right now I'm just taking a breather and watching all the picks, info ect, ect. Doing more research and then I'll take the plunge again. If I'm not careful this will become another addiction, I've spent more time on the Mac this last week and my girlfriend has given me the eye. I thought she might like me hanging out around the house instead of vanishing to the woods to flyfish and snowboard. lol. I would like to get at least 10 picks working for me so I can put my stops in and go fishin for a week without worrying about getting cleaned out. You have a really good site here and appreciate all the help.

Not to beat a dead horse, because it is a waste of time dwell on it so this will be the last time on the subject. Digorgio has now told his subscribers that his prediction of BGBR to go up 400% was wrong and that they should sell all positions if they have them. He then goes on to say what a great guy he is because he alerted people as soon as he found out that BGBR wasn't everything he thought they were. He sites only knowing about them 3 weeks prior. Funny thing-- the street sweeper only took 1 week to get all the info to make him change his stance.
What a putz, Reminds me of the commercial " Even children know when they are getting ripped off" Thats it, thought that was worth one last note. Actually BGBR was a good thing in that I found this site which unlikely would have happened otherwise. I'm going to be reading more than writing in the future. I feel that my input might be a waste of time due to my inexperience. I'll keep my posts short. Thanks for putting up with my dumb ass.
BUGS sub penny > 200% today, no news-- WHY-- that crap drives me nuts, I can't watch anymore UUGGHHGH

I like that commercial when the guy gives the little girl a toy horse then gives the other girl a real horse.

MrM, a little off-subject, but have you ever heard of Vince Abajian who lived in North Caldwell, but started Electro-Nucleonics (Fairfield) back in the 1980's and the government bought him out in about 1988-89? http://www.google.com/search?sourcei...s+abajian+1988

Vince and his family were great friends of my second husband from high school. That takeover was a bonanza for my late husband, who had scads of stock. It is still benefitting me today. Vince's mother wrote a book about the Armenian catastophe. It was an eye-opening book to say the least.

I don't know him although I am sure I know people who do. I am very familiar with the story, which seems to be getting in the news these days.
