Quantcast
I have 28 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. I was caught a little off guard today by the market gapping up, so I went to my LT high interest watchers to find some potential long day/swing trades. I ended up taking a shot on SPLK, which worked out well for me, although there were quite a few stocks that had nice bounces to the upside. I have included a 5 min chart to show how I managed this winning trade.

Here is a trade I tried today that didnít work out. Not all of them do. The key is to pick trades with a low risk/reward ratio and to be disciplined about honoring your stops. I have attached a chart that shows how the trade went.

In case anybody is interested and wants to see an example in real-time, there is really nice cup and handle pattern on RDFN right now. I mean, itís textbook. Thereís also sort of a cup and handle pattern on DDOG. This one, however, doesnít have the characteristic ramp up before the pattern.

Interesting. Used to spend a lot of time reading about that kind of thing in IBD.

I found another interesting example of a powerful pattern today in SPCE, which is showing a pronounced island bottom. Optimally, youíd like to see this pattern at the end of a protracted downtrend and in this case, itís not. Still, when itís this well formed, it can be a strong prognosticator of bullish things to come.
