I have 12 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. Default Autoworld

Look at this chart. The American auto is back.

Ford is not backing down – breaks 14 and a chart to die for!

With Chrysler still hemorrhaging $ and Chevy owned by a bunch of the government, if a Teabagger wants to buy an American car, it is Ford!

GM pays back 8 billion! Can't do that if you are not selling cars! People are buying.

Ok – Fords are made in Mexico and Canada, and Hyundai’s & Kia’s are built in the USA, but you know what I mean!

I also know that since most car dealers push financing - which they make money on, you wonder if that increases the national debt? Making the car a liability rather than an asset? Well.....errrrr....probably, but we are talking the stock market and cars. The stock market defines logic and buyers are thrilled at the opportunity to get into the last remaining "American" car company at such a low price.

Ford cars have been coming up as "best buys" and Europe and
Asia are still fascinated by a quality import. The auto unions are weakening and the percentage of the price of a car that is from union pensions is decreasing. Non-union shops in the south making BMWs & Volkswagen are showing that there is no difference in quality (unless we talk about Toyota, but that is another discussion - and with the volume they sell, the complaints are still relatively lower than most cars).

So, without going into the numbers, which are boring anyhow, take a look at the serious volume on the F chart and consider a purchase on a dip under 14.
The sentiment is good and the bull is back.

Comments? Complaints? Save your meats and cheeses for the big guy as that stuff can kill you!

Gene

Next we talk about the Auto company that Warren Buffet got his paws in!

The Motley Fool stock advisor gave Ford as a pick of the month back in Nov or Dec. I think it was around $9. I like the play.

Default more on cars

http://finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=B...DF.PK;range=6m

I work for a city agency and you should see some of the mutants they send me when a position becomes open. You would think that with so many people out of work, they would get the cream of the crop. But they send me the cream of the crap! They hire the unhireable!

Why if I was in charge, I would only get the top people in the country - and if the country is China with 30 zillion people, you can find some good workers. BYD makes it a habit of hiring just the best people from the best schools and that is why their car sales are expected to grow by 67% in the next year. That is why Warren Buffet took a 10% bite out of this Chinese battery maker, BYD. they are on the pink sheets, but it is a real co with real volume and it is only a matter of time b4 they get on a real exchange.

This battery maker began with watch batteries, and moved up the line to the types that are used on hybrid cars - their next step was buying a car company - and now they are one of the top car makers in China. The Chinese car market has overtaken the US as the leader. And sales for BYD cars are expected to rise by close to 70% this year. Aside from a market of 30 zillion upwardly mobile people, they are on the brink of a plug-in model that they feel will fit into the US market.

This pick is a bet on a battery play - but I recall a bunch of battery plays from the past 5 years that fizzled. The reason to pay attention to this stock is that it is an auto play in a huge market and Mr. Buffet has a stake in it. And he is a pretty good stock picker too.

China play/Green play/follow the money play. Check it out. One of the best companies around and most don't know about it. It is not on Buffet's list, because it is a Chinese co. If you can find the IBD article from about 6 mo ago, it is definitely worth a read. Currently about 9.

Default Caas

F is a good bet. I am not sure of the calls, but if you are betting it will go

up, I think it will. The Fusion is as good as the Camry and the new Taurus is in a category of it's own - slick like the Camaro or Charger, but a good reliability record. Personally, I cannot see who would buy a new Taurus for 30k when it will lose half its value in a year, but what do I know.

BYDDF.PK is still searching for its place in the market, you will just have to be patient with it but it has a bright future. My money bets with Warren Buffet.

I should have pumped CAAS, the Chinese car parts maker, up about a buck today. Another solid company working to capacity to make auto components in China.

CAAS is a maker of power-steering components for the world's biggest — and fastest-growing — vehicle market and is tapping into China's growth. The company has top notch fundamental & technical ratings according to IBD

The auto sector is ranked #10 and China Automotive is the leader.

CAAS is in the 4th week of a new base after a massive drop in January.

The ability of this company to make money is a reason to keep an eye on it.

China's vehicle market — cars and trucks — is now number one. A billion people an an upwardly mobile workforce has a lot to do with it.

The Chinese auto market has been unsteady the past few months, mainly due to the economy and tighter lending practices.

After three periods of shrinking profit, through Q1 of 2009, China Automotive put up gains of 17%, 180% and 2,000%.

Sales growth bottomed at 2% in Q4 of 2008, then climbed 8%, 34%, 75% and 119% — four straight quarters of acceleration.

For the just-ended Q1, analysts expect EPS and sales to rise 138% and 50%, respectively. Courtesy of IBD.

One concern should be that there is no institutional ownership of the stock. Volume is about 1mil shares a day and the price is about 23. I would not be surprised to see an impressive breakout from the base and seeing this company emerge as a stock winner once it gets the proper recognition.
