Quantcast
I have 26 consecutive profitable trades of 15% or better. How is this possible? Every day there are hundreds of stocks setting new highs, no matter what happens in the overall market. Many of these stocks are still at very reasonable valuations. Afraid of buying stocks at their highs? Think of it this way: a new high is really a future floor for companies with solid financial underpinnings. Quantitative momentum modeling makes it easy to identify stocks that can continue this upward momentum trend. Why does this happen? It's really very simple..ask me about what investors and cows have in common. I am $$$ MR. MARKET $$$. I AM HUGE!!! Bring me your finest meats and cheeses. You can join in on the fun. It occurs to me that the markets are like Manchester (MA, USA) harbor. Generally, at any moment, the water looks fairly calm. But in fact it is either steadily rising or falling depending on the tide. Periodically, and in violation of the rules and polite behavior, some clown in a boat comes roaring through creating a wake which sends everything in the water violently up and down for a brief but disturbing period. Then slowly the water returns to steadily rising or falling depending on the tide.

Abacus Health Products has announced a promotion arrangement for it's CBD-Medic products, for use like any CBD product, with former American footballer Rob Gronkowski, a demi-god where I live. Anyway I looked at some Abacus documentation and they have increasing revenues so I thought I'd buy a few shares (ABAHF on the other OTC market).

But I couldn't. Schwab says you can't buy online but must call some number which I won't do.

Know little about the company other than a few bits from an earning announcement but I wonder if the Gronk effect will help them.

You may recall in my old wild-assed thread I used to talk about the platinum mine PLG. Also that they suffered a setback when it was determined that in fact there was no platinum in the mine, a hurdle they found it difficult to overcome.

At any rate PLG began the week at $1.20 and earlier today traded as high as $1.99 and as I write is at $$1.82, an increase of over 50% for the week. It's not clear to me exactly what is happening, maybe they are going to start marketing CBD products, but it is gratifying to see.

Discussion of today's PLG chart action. A very rudimentary chart analysis, I'd guess, if you are conversant with that discipline (I'm not). Of course he's selling something.

Another stock I used to flog regularly in my old thread was STOR. This is a Buffett stock (or his lieutenants Todd and Ted). It's a REIT which specializes in strip mall type businesses which are by their nature immune to being internet-ized. Schwab lists restaurants, early childhood education centers, movie theaters, health clubs and I envision barber shops, pool halls, etc. Pays about 3.5% before the Section 199 tax break (thanks to Donald) which is less a payout than it was, as the stock has been rising. Hard to recommend it strongly at this level but it's worth a look.

Bought some Jan. 2021 CRON calls. My only exposure in this area. Stock has been cut in half since the high early this year and they have earnings and a reasonable PE.

Well this thread isn't called wild-assed for nothing. You may recall I used to post about LOGG, at one time a small company trying to produce a small wear it on your ear type camera with which one could record all sorts of hairy adventures. They failed and six months ago the stock was trading at about $.005 (that is 1/2 of one cent). Since then they have re-incorporated from Nevada to Delaware, convinced creditors to trade in debt for stock in the re-incorporated company, brought their SEC filings up to date, have a new chairman and bought rights to the names of two products from PG, though God only knows what they are going to do with those rights. They still have no reported revenue but today for the first time the stock, if you can call it that, is trading at over $.05, otherwise known as 5 cents.

I don't know what is going to happen, in fact I was wishing they would open a marijuana business, not work with PG, but at least PG is a legitimate company. At any rate the prospect that the stock will continue to rise makes my little heart beat faster than watching Tom Brady dismember the hapless Pittsburgh Steelers.

Regrettably we lost this classic when I lost my old thread. I have long modeled my eyebrows after Hepburn's. Check out the excellent shot when Capote's name appears.

Bought a minimal position in a bunch of funds, BFOCX, AKREX, TGUNX, LCLAX, BMGAX just to have a position. Still don't see that anything has changed warranting putting any more money in right now.
