I've been sucessfully (Day trading) shorting DSTI over the past few weeks, averaging about 5% gain per trade. Longest I've held was 2 days.

There is a very simple reason that PACT hasn't fallen any faster: the gov't says that there has to be an uptick before someone can sell shares short. And there aren't very many that are willing to pay more for this stock at this time.

2. You may use a target limit order and/or stop loss order.
3. If your target or stop is hit you will be flat for the next trading day, and you may specify a different pick. Must be submitted to the thread prior to market open. Limit orders will only be active in regular market hours. On a gap open below your stop you will get the opening price. On a gap open above your limit price you will get the opening price. Any big price movement outside regular market hours is a locked in ride for you :D If a stock is halted you get the last trade price.

I'll make a rule that for time stamp purposes an instruction post cannot be edited at all - a fresh post must be posted. That way the time of post is set in stone and accountable. I just tested the accuracy of the timestamping for posting at this site, and it is accurate to the minute. So I will use 1min charts and ensure that at least a full 1 min bar has passed from the time of post before I do tracking/filling of orders.

Why do this? It gives us TA knuckleheads the option of timing our picks to the max, and you fundies the option of getting out of bed late, to scratch your heads, close your eyes, sniff the wind, squint, fart and make your picks during gentlemenly leisurely business hours.

OK, rules are these:

1. One pick only (short or long).
2. All orders welcome (stop loss, buy limit, sell limit, buy stop, sell stop). Market orders will be executed at the opening price of next 1 min candle. Limit orders will execute at your stated price when price hits it. Stops will be executed at stated price (or in the event price trades through your price execution will be whereever it does trade).
3. Intraday switchout of picks (i.e. daytrading) is welcome.
4. If your target or stop is hit you may immediately trade again with any order you like. Market orders will be at the next 1 minute candle opening trade price after your post is time-stamped. No editing of posts; a fresh post if you change your instructions.
5. You may end any day flat if you wish and open fresh position the next day, or let it ride.
6. Orders are inactive afterhours and premarket. Trading only during regular hours. Any price movement outside regular market hours is a locked in ride for you.
7. If a stock is halted you get the last trade price.

I'm not a day trader and I'm a novis at TA (at best).... But I like TA, I see the value in using it and I hope to learn more. I think I've learned a lot already by hanging out with you guys for the past several weeks.

3. After hours and premarket trading is allowed but the 1 minute rule applies and there has to be an actual trade in the chart occuring at your price or better; it can't be just off bid/ask prices. So explaining those 2; you post the instructions, I look at your post time and then I add 1 minute to it, and that's when I start looking on the chart for the fill of your order of an actual trade recorded on the chart. Some of those FA guys are maybe getting a little tight around the collar with the win by a TA guy an it looks like one of their own might just be getting a taste of the TA side and liking it. Could there be a major changover to the dark side. Now if we could only get a few more players, names withheld to protect the innocent, that are decent chartists to put up a pick this competition could really heat up. After hours it's been down to 0.33 and up to 0.40, so it's showing some nutso action, but I am expecting a gap down for it because the gap down projection I have for it is 0.13!

But I think by the time you put you market order in, Lye, the price had fallen too far and it was a chase, and you filled at 5.25 only to see it bounce back up to that resistance (former support that formed the triangle). That's what happens when one chases, they have to sweat red, which I hate doing. I don't wanna sweat ANY red. The ideal thing for you to have done when you missed a good entry on the break down was to put a limit in to sell the resistance line of 5.31. And price action in the last 10 minutes would have given you the fill, and you'd be sitting pretty in profit, with a stop over that spike near your entry. That's great r/r. Your entry wasn't great r/r. You want to always plan that r/r so it's optimal, and be picky with entries, be patient, wait for price to come to you. It's an edge. Often it won't but when it does you'll be very happy with the trade. I'll bet you weren't happy with your entry once price did what it did. You surely said to yourself, why didn't I wait? And that's what anyone would do.

So is that "W" bottom the same as a "tweezer" bottom?Yep, but they are different at the same time. lol
W bottom might be there in a 1 minute chart, but in a 30 minute chart it looks like a tweezer. So in the tweezer, you can't actually 'see' the W shape; it's just 2 bars or candles next to each other with the low either the exact same price or one or two pennies off. BMD on a 30 min chart is a tweezer 1 penny off, and on a 1 min chart, it's a W bottom.

AMHC is a pretty good play; it's breaking down a channel long yesterday, and didn't have an intraday pattern that impressed, and doesn't today (ie failed triple bottom) so it's bearish for sure. The green triangle is the one I'd have focused on. I'm assuming you saw the orange one?? Only problem is it's a little one, and price needed to test the resistance of the green one. That green line is actually a good place to be shorting. And you'd be shorting a pop of strength to your price, where you're sitting in ambush. And you'd be sitting pretty instead of sweating your entry there. But a good pick anyway, I think it's going down as long as 37.70 isn't taken out by the bull.

But hey, there IS a SHS there, with neckline break. The best play now is a short at a return up to the neckline at .54 with a stop at .58. But that's 7.4% risk. Your fill was at .51 by the way.

Longer than that, Billyjoe! My first purchases of XING were back in 2001 at about $2-3. It first popped onto my watchlist in '99 when it hit $70. Two years ago it was over 10% of my port, but now I've cut it back to under 2%. I'm waiting for the spike that takes it to double-digits again to get out of it completely. Who knows, today's news just might be the catalyst that does it? A few years ago I was sure this company was going places, showing excellent growth potential. However, every chance they get, they seem to disappoint, and I believe I've found much better places lately to put my money than XING.

Short-term, though, this stock has the best chance of the ones I'm watching for a nice pop. (in my opinion) Should be good for another 15% this week. Didn't buy any here at $6, though, and won't, since I have enough already!
