My pick of the year, DHB, think it will double and split before the end of this year. Still at a great entry point, as they are bringing out new contracts monthly. This stock will roll for a few years, R & D are constanly changing to new needs by DOD. Haven't even tapped the foreign markets yet as demand from the DOD is to great at this time. New products coming on line, (ballistic blankets) big need to create a bombproof mess hall and meeting rooms. At a good enty point right now of $22.50 and should go much higher short and long term. This one is a keeper, I plan on holding it for atleast another year and making a killing. New mutual funds and institutions are jumping on board weekly and still really a unknown name to wall street, thats going to change soon. Should get an upgrade this week and I'm going to be adding to my position Monday morning. This stock is a no brainer, every member of the military is going to be issued a vest as standard equipment. Do you DD and then buy some, make yourself some easy money in "05".

DHB has been a good stock to me. I traded it a few times with much success. I would agree with your write up on this company. I will wait for a pull back in price before I consider jumping back in. I see the demand for their product will remain strong for sometime. I’ll be patient and wont chase it.

I agree. DHB will be a double for 2005.

DHB is a great stock. Have been in CRDN approx. 2 years, like it a little better. Both should do well. I like stocks that split.

I like DHB. Just got in at 20.62. I think there's plenty of juice left.

I just bought back in at 20.65. With the new contracts and future business I think this will be a good long term stock. I'm back in at least through January. I am putting a stop loss order at 19.70. Keeping the fingers crossed and the mouse off the sell hyper-link.

The CEO and his wife dumped 10627850 shares of stock in the last two days. Hmm, thats a little over 200 million dollars. Late Christmas present? Anyway, I am bullish on this stock. Good sector, good management and good profits. The only hard part is the volitility.

Could we see a 38% retrace? I’m beginning to think it is possible

ouch...I'm glad I closed out my DHB position. I'll have to consider getting back in once it bottoms out. Just dropped to $19.11.

I think we may see that 38% retracement...maybe even more.

38% retrace 18.99 now what will it do? Bounce or come on down to the 50%?

Runner
12-30-2004, 02:44 PM
I’m thinking 38% might have been the play with stop 18.62 or 2%. If 18.62 gets taken out them I’d wait for 50% retrace. Any comments?

I've bought DHB 5 times this year and made a pretty good profit, but I think I'll wait until a base forms before I get back in. I did notice that it almost filled the gap today, but didn't quite make it.

Could be a great chance to buy in, but I'd like to see some sign of a base established. Can hardly wait to see what it does tomorrow.

Looks like the old "falling knife" but I am watching and waiting to get back in.
I bit at the 38% retrace line but got out with a small loss to start off my year.

DHB: Channel long today. And close above the gap support. Bulls have to be tempted here. No distinct intraday pattern to justify entry yet. Worth watching for one though :D

ouch....DHB closed at $14.85 today. An amazing drop, considering the great outlook for this company. It looks like the CEO killed this one when he sold his shares. I'm sure there's a lot of pissed off shareholders right now.

This could be a great opportunity for all of us non-shareholders though. How low can DHB go??? The chart shows support at around $14.60, but who knows if it'll hold there? I'll keep a close watch on DHB.

Webs,

What's the PEG of this stock?

Excuse me for sounding like a Newborn Baby, Newborn, but what does PEG mean? I ain't gettin' what you're asking. I'm just a poor redneck from the south, so you got to speak more clearly.

If you mean, what made it drop, the CEO and his wife sold off a pile of shares, right after they announced a big contract. They say it wasn't an illegal sale, but it wasn't a nice thing to do to their shareholders. I'm just glad I had already sold my DHB position.

I'm finally out of dhb. Held It just under one year. Made good money on It but tired of the up and downs, to many good stocks with out screwing around. Took the money today and put It In a great bank In Buffalo. Predicted to go to $126.00,pays. over $6.00 dividends. MTB

RL,
While I was checking on your bank, MTB, highly rated among banks of the Northeast , I decided to check on banks in the Southeast and to my surprise , good ole' Mr.Markets OFG is rated #1 overall and #1 in attractiveness. I hope IBD is right and all the good bank stocks make a move soon. We could sure use it.

New born, PEG for DHB is 1.25. You could find it in "key statistics" for DHB on Yahoo.

Web, you could find this article pretty helpful: http://www.investopedia.com/articles/analyst/043002.asp

Sadly, I'm still hold DHB. I missed good entries for DHB a couple of times last year. Finally, I caught a falling knife at 18.30. I may use Spike's strategy on NGPS on DHB. Spike, what's 100% retrace line?

I'm considering selling. I sold at 21 and then bought back in at 18.30. The IDC todays big picture suggests that we are in a correction or bear market and should sell off any loosers. Man it will hurt to sell. I'm wondering if I should just convert to a long position and hang in there?

I would consider the size of my position regarding whether I would sell or not. The fact is that DHB is way down. I would say that, it's just a matter of time before it recovers. Of course, if you sold now and could buy back at a lower point you could come out ahead...I'm rambling aren't I?

Maybe Spike will post his thoughts and wisdom on this.

Good luck and good profits...

...caught a falling knife at 18.30. I may use Spike's strategy on NGPS on DHB. Spike, what's 100% retrace line? Here's what I'm seeing right now. That gap support may hold, in which case it's a good long here. Also, volume by price on the weekly is really solid at current levels and below. Also, on the weekly, I see a 50% entry at 13.88 from 3 days ago (from the 5.05 low to the top). A 15% target from 13.88 is 15.96.
From the 1.26 low to the 22.70 high the 50% retrace is 11.96. So 11.96 +15% = 13.75 (if you were to hold and it fell to 11.96 and you were looking for an out)

But on the bearish side, I should note also that from the low 2 days ago, the channel is turned down, which is a big fat warning to me - especially considering my previous bearish chart in this thread. There are better longs out there, and I'm bearish on the market, so I don't have much confidence in that gap support holding. Therefore, caution to anyone still holding. Just my thoughts and I am wrong often enough :D

I'd rather play the odds that are in my favor. Better opportunities will come. I have profits to protect.

Websman, I've seen you a few times on IBD. I was wondering, when did you sell? I sold on 1/4 at around 17, Monday morning QB'd the prior days, and realized there were some sell signals during the prior week. If you got out quicker, just wondering what you saw.

Thanks in advance.

The main thing I saw was a sense of over optimism. When everyone starts to get overconfident I start to get concerned. I bought DHB 6 different times and made a decent overall profit and didn't feel like pushing my luck.

Buy it, short it, or leave it alone. any ideas?

Yes, there are plenty of better setups long side now. Let this one go or catch a ride south. It's in trouble with that big bear flag. They can precede some big moves.

This stock just popped in my head today and I look it up...what an ugly chart...jeeez! I remember two years ago this stock was in its own most popular thread on IBD forums, I bet some of those poor chaps are still holding from the twenty's. Anyway, Spike, is it hitting that channel yet? LOL
