Okay, if you've read the "Suggestions for something good to buy?" at http://www.mrmarketishuge.com/forum/showthread.php?t=580 Karel has suggested that I start my own thread, so here goes. As you may or may not know, I run a bunch of screens and model portfolios, and I've got two that are really kinda exciting (read fast and dangerous) they are generally penny stocks.

I won't track these two as portfolios per-say (spelling on that??) but just recommendations to buy or sell stocks and how the trade turned out.

Shortlist 1 is a technical breakout port. There will be a lot of trading, probably 2-5 a day. Here's the calls made so far:

12-2-04
Bot EVLO on open @ 5.00
Bot WLGC on open @ 1.42
Bot SMXC on open @ 7.65

12-6-04
Sold SMXC on open @ 7.81 (+2.09%)
Bot DDD on open @ 5.40
Bot DOC on open @ 8.30

Plan for tomorrow: Will close EVLO(+1%), WLGC(+9.86%), and DDD(-11.11%) on open tomorrow and buy SOL and CPT on market open.

Shortlist 2 are stocks that are under $5 that I think have good upside potential. It will be a weekly update on Friday so remind me to put up the list at the end of this week. In the mean time, you might as well buy SIRI. But I plan on this shortlist outperforming SIRI once posted.

Actually I didn't, I was just answering the question about something good to buy with a suggestion towards self-empowerment, or whatever the current terminology is. But of course, seen in that light, I can only be happy you started your own thread. Good luck with it!

(and it is "per se")

Regards,

Karel

As an aside, I thought this was hilarious:

Scifos,
An excellent idea. From now on I'm demanding a 60% discount on all my stock purchases.

Oops, I was supposed to post my shortlist on friday but forgot all about it in the excitement of an impending MM pick. Anyways, here is the shortlist from friday, with the suggestion of buying them on the market open yesterday (I feel so silly saying that)

CYAN, NENG, and OLAB

So...let me get this straight. Your "short list" is actually a "long list".

Oh, I never realized people would see it as a list of stocks to short sell. No, I am very bullish on these stocks. The premise is that some may drop a little, but the potential for one or two to explode is there.
