Is anyone else ever concerned about the number of low priced stocks mentioned in this forum? I'm not an advocate of IBD that stays away from all stocks under $15 , but you'd probably have to admit it's easier to lose faster with a low priced stock. In our recent stock picking contest, six of the worst 7 picks were stocks under $10 , only ridemhigher's MTEX priced at 14.63 made any significant gain. These poor performers weren't just pulled out of a hat. I'm sure some research went into the picks and something promising was seen in each of them. Maybe I'm just too conservative , but one of my goals is to pick a stock that has little chance of a sudden drop . Let me know how you think, pro or con. Thanks.

p.s. just checked the huge one's winners 7 of 62 were purchased below 15.00

I get off on the price action of low price stocks. Some of my best trades have been on stocks under $15.

I've made a lot of $$$ on SIRI!

It's kind of like going to the casino. You can lose or win big, but it's always a rush...

Mine were pulled out of a hat. I'm not joking. I'd do that sort of thing for a silly contest, however, when it comes to my real money I do try to stay above $10. True, there isn't as much price action, but my real money is weary of that much action.

I think it is true...low priced stocks tend to be more volatile than higher priced issues...I guess it depends on your goals and tolerance for risk. When I buy lower priced stocks I buy smaller dollar amounts myself. But in the long run, I'd say I don't do all that great on stocks under $4.00 share...especially when I buy them for over $10.00 a share...IIC

As stated before, I fell the only way a person has chance to compete with M.M. is to go out on a limb and pick a stock that has a running start and the possibablitys of going out with a bang. Instead, my picks just fizzled, And my account ended up being the winner. ===> MEA

Curious to see how people feel about this now? I play a few low priced stocks here and there......... find it a worthy challenge and quite profitable, once in a while! But overall feel the lower priced stocks are not as porfitable as last year and am leaning toward higher priced now.

You beat me to the punch line,Earnings EARNY, I was going to make a comment on LLOG.ob and how it was up over 47.43% since you first spotteded it, but O Well. I like them all, but you know me, I'm kinda a low $$$$$ Man.
How about GTE I'm in at 0.36 an loveing it, TREN.ob is another bonus on my plate, in at 0.98. Still holding on to OHB, which is up 37.51%.

I'm neutral on XKEM, GPOR, and ERTH and I'm negative on MCET.

I find I am a little more jumpy with low priced ones. I have owned one that I had too much money in and it went from 10 to bankrupt in a year.

I get some comfort in seeing a large price, low PE, lower future PE, nice growth rate and a nice balance sheet. Having those things allow me to have some balls on the dips.

Dudes! $3.00 stock that looks hot right now is MOVI.

It was burnt toast material until today's bullishness. Ya got a real nice island reversal, high volume gap up. Open gaps up at 12.55 and 32.69. I think 8.50 is a great short-term target.

Definately worth 5% risk over the next week or so to target 186% with a Captain Insano r/r of 37.

oops, got ahead of myself... looks like net loss is decreasing rapidly, though:

Net Loss. For the three months ended March 31, 2006, we had a net loss of $9,527, as compared to a net loss of $70,395 for the three months ended March 31,2005, a decrease in net loss of $60,868 or 86.47%. The decrease is primarily attributable to the increase in Gross Profit and the decrease in Operating Expenses in the first quarter of 2006 as compared to the first quarter of 2005.
