What ever Richard Branson touches seems to turn to GOLD.....I think VM will explode at the opening .......buy on the pullback?

any word on when VM will open?!? I only hear it will be available this week.

Chris if ya find out post it here.......usually these IPOs drop after opening on the first day as institurions close out and take their money.....the trick is to jump in on the uptick after the major opening fall .....but with Branson behind this one who knows ......he already has phones and service that caters to the 14-34 set ......and those babies buy!

Peter...there is more to it...Many times institutions have to commit to holding for a certain period of time...It is not so easy.

Look for stocks that offer above the high filing.

Guys thanx without your input and others in here .....all would be meaningless........many brains working together makes the target easier to achieve. I will definitely watch VM!

I'm sure you'vw seen but VM will up and running today. They have some debt to get through but based on history should have an initial bump.

While doing some research on VM IPO I came across info on the VMW IPO around August 14th this year. Check out post #591 Park Twain's Parlor or post #1 That Crazy old Stock Market thread.

-------VMW is a spinoff of EMC and what a spinoff! It's gone from 51-111 in less than 2 months. EMC retains ownership of 86% of VMW, that's 36.83 billion .And yet during the first month after the IPO, EMC floundered in the 17-18 range and didn't advance at all. I know because I bought EMC before the IPO. It's up about 19% as of today, but with an added 38 billion in value that's no surprise. Check out EMC. The analysts say the VMW ownership adds $11 to EMC core value but that seems very low to me.

This IPO didn't get off the ground as everyone thought it would. Keep away from this stock or just watch it for a few months, any thoughts anyone?

I never bought it......just was not getting good vibes.......will continue to watch it... Brandson rarely fails at any endeavor !

Hey PH. I don’t know if I am right. I was curious and thought I ask. Anyway, why would Mr. Brandson offer an IPO for this stock only to raised merely a half billion dollars? Mr. Brandson could keep it private and pay the debts from his own pockets, yes?

VM was downgraded to a sell with a target of $10. Is the downgrade to lower the price so they can pick it up at that cost?

Google would probably go with an existing carrier, also isn't VM only pay per go? I dont think pay per go is an acceptable means for mainstream, business customers.
