I couldn't believe it when I saw former senator Max Cleland at a political rally (lost both legs and one arm in Vietnam) say " I wasn't really injured in Vietnam. I went hunting with Dick Cheney".

not really a joke, well maybe he is depending on your stripes, but some neocon writer (Buckley?) created a nickname for George Allen of VA....Felix Macacawitz.

Well now its time to throw the whole Iraq war thing in their LAPS ....Sure a pullout would be nice ......but once the Shiite Militia takes over those oil fields ......The ladies had better dust off their Burkas ..... Radical Islamic Doctrine will spread like crazy financed by the OIL money .
The BIG problem is that the US troops are too heavily restrained ......If you wish to win a war .....let the dogs of war loose .....or get the hell out ...putting more men slowly into a meat grinder is NO way to win a war.
As Sherman said "War IS Hell" I approve of this message !

Our troops were put into a no-win situation. The world contains over 300 million muslims, and a good portion of them are more than willing to go to iraq just to drive us out. How can we win a war where the enemy is almost invisible to our troops?

I hate to say it, but we got suckered into this war....partly because of the Israeli lobby who pushed hard for it and assured us that it would be a cake walk. I believe they're also saying the same thing about an Iran war. Give us an old-fashioned war any day and we win. But fighting a world-wide insurgency is another matter.

On an even darker note, once we leave iraq (and its a question of when, not if), those radical muslim fighters will turn their attention to Israel in an effort to drive them out of the middle east once and for all. The logical response to that offensive is to drop a few nuclear warheads on both Iran and Syria, and Iraq too since it will be just as hostile once we leave. So it looks like Israel's tactic to get us involved in their fight made matters much worse for them in the long run.

ok...here's one.

A huge deposit of oil has been found in the Gulf of Mexico. Experts say that it's probably enough to supply the U.S. with enough oil for the next 200 years. Upon discovering this news President Bush announced plans for an immediate invasion of Louisianna.

you're right...here's one. Dick Cheney was deer hunting with a couple of buddies and he was being chauffered around in a humvee convertible, when all of the sudden one of his buddies jumped out from behind a bush and yelled..."DON'T SHOOT, I'M NOT A DEER!"

Well, Dick raised his rifle and dropped him dead in his tracks. The driver of the humvee cried...Mr. Vice-President...he said he wasn't a deer!!

Cheney said, "Oh...I thought he said he was a deer!"

hey..I just heard on the radio that rummie resigned...another casulty of the war it appears.

I fully expected Bush to start making changes regardless of how the elections turned out...He didn't want to make changes beforehand....that would have been political suicide... I even read an article a few weeks ago where they quoted him as saying the goal won't change but the strategies will be reviewed....Doug

I heard a good one the other year....Cheney said that the insurgents in iraq were in their last throes! I think he meant to say his administration...lol...erh, I mean the bush administration;)

hey...I just heard that the dumocrats took the senate as well. Boy oh boy, how bad do you have to be to lose both houses of congress, in one election, to a bunch of idiots? I'm guessing this election is one for the history books.

What many people don't seem to comprehend is that there are many degrees of Republicans and Democrats...There is very little similarity between a "Southern Democrat" and a "Northeastern Democrat"

Take Webb in Virginia...He's a registered Democrat...I'm a Republican...But in the overall scheme of things I bet he is more Conservative than I am...Remember George Wallace from Alabama???...He was a Democrat...Was he a Liberal???...He BLOCKED THE SCHOOLHOUSE DOOR...He was as far from Liberal on Civil Rights as any Nationally known figure: http://www.archives.state.al.us/govs_list/schooldoor.html

"Congressman Patrick Kennedy crashed his car into a barricade on Capitol Hill at 3 o'clock in the morning yesterday. The head of his office said there was no alcohol involved. That's why it's a big story, a Kennedy, a car accident and no alcohol? That's never happened before." --Jay Leno

"What a nightmare I had last night. I dreamed I was at a Washington party and I had to choose between Dick Cheney (http://politicalhumor.about.com/od/dickcheneyshooting/) taking me on a hunting trip or Ted Kennedy driving me home." --Jay Leno

"According to rumors, Ted Kennedy may have had a child out of wedlock. Well, who hasn't? But you know, something like this could damage Kennedy's image with women." --David Letterman

"Tabloids are reporting that Sen. Ted Kennedy has an illegitimate 21 year-old son. Apparently, Kennedy isn't denying the report, but the kid is." --Conan O'Brien

Remember George Wallace from Alabama???...He was a Democrat. [. . .] He was as far from Liberal on Civil Rights as any Nationally known figure.I remember him well. And my father, who was probably politically to the right of Rush Limbaugh, voted for Wallace for President when he ran on the Independent ticket in 1968.

It's a strange quirk of history, though, how most people associate the progress of Civil Rights in this country with the Democrat party. The majority of the Democrats in congress did everything in their power to try to block the passage of the landmark Civil Rights Act of 1964, including launching longest filibuster in the history of the Senate (83 days). It was the Republicans who got the bill to Pres. Johnson's desk ... and that's no joke, just an unvarnished fact of history. Truth is sometimes stranger than fiction.

"Study hard and make the most of your education. Otherwise you'll end up marrying an ugly, neurotic, foreign ketchup heiress for her money."I don't know who said it, but who thinks Teresa Heinz Kerry is ugly? Okay, she's not exactly a cover girl but certainly not what I would consider ugly.

I don't think it's an actual quote. It's just making fun of Kerry's recent insulting comment about our military personnel.
