Most of you regulars have seen the picture of the guy dropping his trousers to plant a wet fart on his sleeping buddy. Clearly this reveals my juvenile humor which keeps me laughing when the market isn't cooperating.

However...I will take the picture down if there is enough negative sentiment from the members..what say you?

As Bob Grant would say:

"Your influence counts...use it!"

I agree with Jiesen......if it makes you smile....go for it.

I have a 15 yr old son who is having a little trouble
remembering his manners lately. If you could have the
man look over his shoulder when finished and say
"ooops.....sorry" then I would think I was at home.
Sigh....

Anybody need a teenager? :)

Mr.Market,
Although the fart picture brings back pleasant memories for you, it doesn't for most of us. How about one of the beautiful Mrs.Market chasing you with a rolling pin in hand?

My thoughts:

You said it yourself: it's juvenile.

Personally, I hate it, and I hate that there's less and less a sense of propriety in the world than there used to be.

If I were in your shoes as the creator of this fine message board, I would strive to keep it respectable, and that picture does not fit the mold.

MrMarket,

Here is what Mr Manners says:
I just don't know how to behave in front of my boyfriend's parents anymore. Whenever we have lunch or dinner together, his father will sooner or later either burp or break wind in the most disgusting manner. Except myself, no one seems to be bothered by it, but it really makes me lose my appetite and so I try to avoid any family gatherings. When my boyfriend asks me why, I explain but he thinks I'm overreacting and that this is pretty normal. But I just can't stand being in the room with his father and feel like I deserve him to behave in a more respectful manner. What can I do? Name and address withheld

All our bodies behave in "disgusting" ways. Even the Queen, the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Prime Minister and the Pope fart and burp. In Western manners it is polite to ignore the embarrassing noises that our bodies make, and carry on regardless. Your boyfriend's father sounds as though he was brought up in a more robust (ruder?) clan than you were. I would find his behaviour eccentric and comical. Possibly rude. But I should carry on regardless. To cold-shoulder family gatherings for such a common human function seems to me unduly fastidious. Kind hearts are worth more than coarse farts. And a loving boyfriend should count for more than his Daddy's bad manners.

Seriously, I think you should show that picture only during bear markets to keep us all in good moods. Seems like it is needed here. Who's Bob Grant?

We import refractories for the steel industry. I sell special brick which lines the ladles and EAF's in the steel making process. My company offers products and technical services. We have the world's largest production capacity from a single location of a special type of brick. I sell to 6 of the top 10 world producers of steel.

What type of metal shop did you start up?

CNC custom machining and steel fabrication. We build custom machinery and equipment and we also mfg a line of railway trackwork components.... As well as other "stuff".

For the OEM trackwork line we purchase HR product (mill direct) from STLD (was RESC) and GGB (Ameristeel) Minimills (and others from time-to-time). My company also services the RESC plant with various machined and fabricated components.... I have some knowledge of (EAF) Minimill operations.

What do you mean by "largest production capacity from a single location"?.... Is your company the manufacturer? or do you just import from this source? I remember RESC buying $millions and $millions of equipment from Italy back a few years ago. Any of your stuff coming from there?.... or is it mostly mfg'd in Asia?

btw.... STLD is becoming a pretty hotshot player don'tcha think?...
