View Full Version : 44 "Hotties"
Here are 1-year charts of 44 stocks. These 44 stocks came up on a Vector Vest search in which all but the major indicies have been excluded, all have VV "buy" ratings, all are in the top 5 industries by the VV RT (Relative Timing) rating (hence the label "hotties"), and all have a trading volume greater than or equal to 50,000 in the last day of trading.
See anything here you particularly like? If so, please state why you like it. Make a case for it.
Likewise, if you see one you think is going to take a hit, why do you think so?

There are a lot of steel stocks on that list. What does that tell us about the industry?
Thank you for this research! Great work. Personally, I will refer back to this many times this year. Could you update us monthly, or when significant action takes place in one of the stocks? Thanks

Okay, okay. But if you want to talk about HUGE, this is also on that list, my friend ...

That's pretty HUGE, wouldn't you say? So why might GEHL be a better buy than, say, CAT?

I like the hottie list. When I get time, I am going to TA the group and see if I can find perhaps the 5 hottest of the hotties. Or the 5 most ready to fly higher now. Or perhaps Spike, Runner, and others would do the work first. . . .
Here's a graphic comparison of GEHL's and CAT's rev. and earnings growth over the past 12 quarters. Both are pretty impressive. Then there's a comparison of the two from MSN's Moneycentral Web site, with JLG thrown into the mix.

I suppose I should be happy I've owned 4 of those stocks in the last year. 2 of which I am pissed I sold too early on JLG and PKX. JLG is up almost 60% more since I sold and PKX is up like 40%. Kinda makes you sad but at least I made money on them.

Rob,
Nice work on that comparison. So much nicer when you can compare two or three stocks numbers side by side like that. The differences both pro and con become very distinct.
