> Dear Mr. Barsamian:
>
> This is to inform you that we have terminated your access to the IBD
Forums on investors.com. As early as 2003, we have expressed our
concerns to you about excessive self-promotion including offensive posts,
driving traffic away from investors.com and use of the IBD Forums to sell
or promote yourself and your services. We have also received several
complaints about you from other IBD Forum participants. As a result, we
have determined that your continued violations of our policies have
resulted in the termination of your IBD Forums account.

I like your excessive self promotion and find your "offensive posts" very entertaining. Please do more of both.

Mr Market
I agree with billjoe. Large, liberal doses of self promotion and "offensive posts" are the engine that causes the machine to reel off profit after profit.
I decided to post a copy of my comment on the forum since you can no longer read it. See the following:
Mr Market:
What the small mind cannot defeat with logic must be hidden from view.
References to "complaints from others" who are conveniently unnamed is a typical tactic used when relying on truth is not considered an option.
I am saddened and am considering, after a similar treatment of Bruce Poormans, if my 8 year association with IBD should continue.
Fear of opposing views is not conducive to open discussions.

This is what I posted on the IBD board. For this, I will surely be banned myself................
I also enjoy Mr markets posts. Since joining Mr Markets forum I have learned much more than I ever would at IBD. There are quite a few great traders at Mr Markets forum, who talk about stocks openly, without the fear of getting banned or bashed.
Although I recently received a warning letter from IBD, I did not get banned. However, with this post, I will do my best get kicked off the IBD forum.
Are you ready for this IBD? This should get me banned. The truth hurts.

Who needs the CanSlim method anyway . I much prefer Mr Market's finest meats and cheeses picks....I have made more money with those stock selections!
Well...Ernie...I'm glad to see you "Finally" made the "A" Team...Took 'ya long enough ;)
You are now a "Charter Member" of the "IIC GREAT TRADERS CLUB"...And it looks like Webs will soon join us too!!!...Although Webs...I must say that your post will probably not do it...Needs to be a little bit stronger...But I'm reasonably certain you'll get it right in '06.
Best to all...And here's to Mr. M http://bestsmileys.com/drinking/20.gif
Oh...BTW...Watch out for IBD...I don't know if you can determine where the the members who join your forum come from...But on one Forum I run I can see the isp's...Sorta funny when the numbers convert to the WilliamOneil.com domain...I'm serious...But I have called them before and those people don't seem to exist...I don't know what anyone else calls it...But in my book I call it "Espionage"...Doug(IIC)

It would be nice to see IBD (With all their knowledge and expertise) issue their stock picks the same time Mr Market reveals his. The results should then be tabulated and published on Mr. Markets website and in the IBD newspaper after a one year period. I do not think IBD would accept the challenge! Would Mr Market accept the challenge?......I bet all the world's finest meats and cheeses he would!

Holy crap,Mr.Market, you've been totally deleted back to Sept.2005. What ever happened to truth, justice, the American way, and free speech? IBD stands (or hides) behind all those beliefs if it can make them $$$, but throws them away when it interferes with their program. It is fitting that your last post to a foul mouthed lout was " I have some hot new picks for you"
Come to think of it, IBD is being consistent. Ever notice how fast their top 100 stocks disappear once they tank? It's as if they never were there. Gee, I wonder if those tankers are figured into their returns vs. S&P 500?

billyjoe is correct, I can find no evidence anywhere on the forums that you ever existed.
It is almost eerie.
On the other hand, I can find no evidence in my portfolio results that IBD ever existed. I can find a lot of evidence that Mr Market exists from the positive effect you have had on my portfolio.
That comparison pretty much says it all.

Mr. Market,
I've been thinking what you just said. What kind of business would go out of their way to alienate 50% of their possible clients? I don't mind reading an opinion that differs from mine unless it's the only opinion offered. We have more than one political party in this country for the benefit of everyone. There's plenty of evidence against the other option. Isn't that one of the reasons we're in Iraq?

Actually I'm suprised I'm still here after cussing out Karel that time. But this place is made up of real men (I include the gals in that statement too) who don't resolve their differences by banning a fellow member even if he was an "asshole" (speaking of me of course). Even the Aussie forum that Webs and some of the fellas visit will try to sensor you and keep you "in line"... They nailed Webs for posting your ($$MM$$) link over there.... Another Aussie story: Webs and me were posting on a general forum over there (having a ball too) and after one of my posts they locked down the freakin thread!!lol.... Just like that it's O.V.E.R! The administrator said it was time to "talk stocks", (imagine that) and said it was too contraversial (WHAT!? We were just gettin started too). We could have kept that stupid thread going indefinately over HERE at $$$MM$$'s.... Heck, Karel kept "Capt Matrix" GoJi spam on the thread for a long time before that was removed.... and good thing too because we'll all be rich some day when I bring that thing public.... I don't know how I figured this out. Could it be that they both start with the word "Mister", or could it be that "Maestro" has a connotation of arrogance and condescension just as "$$$Mr.Market$$$" does?

THAT would be my dream woman. Talk to her about stocks and beef cattle and she gets all "turned on" and just JUMPS your bones out of the blue!.... Is it kinda like that IIC?...lol
Lye,
Hey (NO Pun Intended) we are all looking for a trading partner with GOOD fundamentals and a FIGURE that is off the charts! My ideal 36DD 24 36 about 5'10" and the ability to rough ride and hang on . Please no 2 minute rides here......LOL!

I'm banned. I have to drink when I post.
Anyone got an IBD update?
Who the heck cares about an update???
I have had access to the IBD forums since Day One...I met my trading partner...(Who Lye apparently wants to meet...BUT NEVER WILL)...I met another guy who is a good trading buddy...But that's it...2 1/2 years...And that's all there is...Wait, I did learn how to import/export my lists from some guy who posted there.
But it seems to me that for people who spend $200 to $2000 a yr for their stuff...and for the lame brains who spend $179 to $6,995 for their worthless seminars...They would assign a moderator to control things...Heck, I offered my services at $ 250,000yr...Which I think is a small price to pay...But the phone ain't ringin'.
I even gave them Carte Blanche to post the IIC 100...NO CHARGE!!!
I really don't know what else I can do to give O'Neil a break???
Any suggestions???...IIC

It only took me a couple of weeks to realize IBD was a waste of money...I could do much better on my own and with the help of free sites such as these I no longer needed IBD. I hadn't gotten around to cancelling it until I read about how they banned Mr. Market so I just called them and put an end to it. Not only out of respect for this forum but because they wasted my money on lame info. Thanks again Mr. Market for having a website I HAVE to visit daily.

It's pretty much the status quo over there.
Pamela is still trying to find someone to blame for making a bone-head move a week ago, the usual suspects are trying to figure where they went wrong in riding DHB down, others are trying to find out why they followed CANSLIM and lost, Bruce is still giving good advice. I cannot find any mention of the "recently banished" although I have always had problems searching the forums.
Here's an update...although not the one you are looking for:
I'm pleased to announce that the CANSLIM Select Fund (CSSGX) made a whopping 0.39% this past quarter.
http://stockcharts.com/def/servlet/SC.web?c=cssgx
Geez... the S & P 500 was +1.6% over the same time... The DJIA +1.4%...Naz Comp +2.4%...Naz 100 2.7%...Heck, I get paid more than .39% for the idle cash I have sitting in my brokerage accounts.
Why doesn't somebody post about that at their Forum?

The CSSGX is not the IBD 100...It is a mutual fund that uses CANSLIM criteria to pick stocks. It started in late September 2005. Investors.com has their holdings listed but it is run by Duncan Hurst http://www.dhcm.com
My guess is that it will go the way of the old New USA fund...You cannot effectively trade CANSLIM with that much money...it just won't work. There are other funds that use CANSLIM criteria...some have been around for quite a while...but results have been less than stellar.
It's one thing to paper trade...like IBD does with their absurd claims in the paper regarding the 85-85's, New America's, IBD 100 results etc...It's another thing to do it in the real world.
At the Expo a guy working the IBD booth was telling people that the fund was up 13% since October...What he failed to mention was that just before that the fund had dropped almost 10%...at least according to Stockcharts.com...If I had known that at the time I would have had a field day...LOL...and now it is down almost 3% since the guy said that.
Oh well...who cares anyway???

He told me a couple of days ago that it was +35%...So sounds right...I think that is good for a relatively Intermediate Term portfolio last year...Beat my Intermediate and Long Term portfolios by 7%...I think he's a good guy( And I think he's honest...Right or Wrong) and I think for those that are looking for "fairly" safe stocks in an Intermediate time frame he offers quite a bit of insight and good ideas....Doug(IIC)

Here's a clip from Poormans weekend update...
"The 8 mutual funds identified by Poormas last December were up 11.5% for 2005 and the model up 34.5%, but a little less than 2004 (36.3%)."

Why don't you recruit a friend of yours who still wastes money . . . er, subscribes to IBD to put a link to this site under his posts? Try to find one who doesn't raise the ire of the editors, will ya? :D And yes, I'd keep the winning streak alive. It helps newbies to stop in and take a gander. Once they see the posts, they'll stay.

One thing is for sure: it isn't you; it's this choppy market.
Would you consider doing this: make a special pick. You'd do this by running your system, posting the top five, and then let Spike and the TAers post an entry/exit and option strategy. Don't enter until the stock until the TAers do their work. I'd buy that pick in a flash! I think the entire board would, too.
Please give it some consideration. You could call it a "Mr. Market Special" or some such name. If you did a little promotion, this forum would have 3000 members quickly. Again, find a friend who will fly your flag on IBD. Lots of leads there.

Hey Shadow.... IIC was banned too.lol
He's not refering to IBD forum members who have the ability to discover different methods other than CANSLIM. He's refering to the diehard IBD Bill O'Niel followers who Read IBD as if it were their bible or something. I know some fellas like that.... and IIC's reference to "cultists" is somewhat fitting. I'm an IBD subscriber and have been for about 15 years. It has it's benifits imo... But I've also seen alot of IBD 100 stocks get faded heavily as the IBD "sheep" enter at the top. A guy on a yahoo board once illuded to the IBDSSSS (IBD secret short sellers society) lol.... His theory was that since IBD appealed to the retail
(many times inexperienced) investor that there were many who stalked IBD 100 stocks as short candidates. Seems reasonable to me as I've watched many IBD 100 stocks correct HARD and screw up a perfect cup and handle chart for no apparent reason other than the fact that they were featured in IBD. The stocks are still good just wait till IBD ain't pumping them to enter I guess.
So Shadow DUDE!!!! Doug (IIC) dosen't have a beef with you. You're now becoming a $$MM$$ cultist!....hehehehe And the great thing about that is.... very few (if any) members here follow him lockstep either. We argue with Ernie all the time about his entry points and he could care less. We're just here to have a little fun and learn from each other.... there's no better stock forum on the web dude....

You're willing to get banned from IBD???

Doug,
I didn't take it too personally, I just couldn't resist
the urge to razz a bit. Trust me....it's usually pretty
easy to know when I do take it personally. :-)
I would like to hear the story when you have
the time.
Now Lye,
About that dude comment............ ROFL
Since you guys have wounded me you can help me out.
Go to the "education and market wisdom" forum and help
me out. I posted a ? but so far no help. Believe it or not
it's a legitimate question and I'm not "off my meds".

I just asked IBD why they can't spend some of that big canslim $$ and get quotes that aren't 20 minutes old. Now they're having technical problems and I can't access anything except for the forums. I have a feeling that when I sign off I'll never get on again.

They always have technical problems when they offer free access to the public...which they are doing this week.
They have streaming Real-Time at DailyGraphs for stock charts(eSignal data)...but Screens, Stock Lists and Groups are not R/T until you click an individual stock...Which I would be willing to pay quite a bit for(Groups). So I have to use somebody else's groups (MarketGauge's)...Doug(IIC)

This is the way I see it...First of all, I don't have a problem with the basic Canslim theory...although I don't pay any attention to the EPS ranking. I prefer current EPS and projections...I could care less what a co. did 3 yrs ago...I want to know what it will do tomorrow. I also believe in following market direction...but not the way IBD tries to determine it.
But that's not the point. The problem I have is the company itself...They have the paper...then Dailygraphs...OK...I subscribe to both...But then they have all these little add-ons...E-Tables, Smart whatever...Overpriced seminars...Heck, by the time Joe and Jane Canslim pay for all this stuff...they don't have any money left to invest. ;) IBD nickels and dimes you to death. Of course, it is their business and they can run it the way they want...But I don't have to buy it.
Anyway...when their forum first started I read a lot of the posts...I don't know how many times I would read about people who were sold on exact pivot points, distribution days, EPS rankings and all this other BS. They thought that if they followed CS to a "T" that they would all of a sudden be great investors. How many of them are still active in the Forum???...Bet not many...Have you ever heard Bill O'Neil speak? He talks like CS is the only way you can ever make it...C'mon!!! There's a heckuva lot more to being a good investor than Canslim.
Then these classes...$179, $795, $2,995, $6,995...Heck, I'll teach you more than you ever wanted to know about Canslim for less than that. I was a pretty strict Canslimmer for over 20 years up until 2000 when I realized it wasn't up to date especially as far as being adaptable to volatility.
I have no problem with someone who uses basic CS principles as a guide...But anyone who follows it to the letter will only do well by luck IMO. It is not the Holy Grail that IBD presents...In fact, they probably know that...Look what they've done...Big Cap features, Under $10 lists now...Wait...That's not Canslim!!! Of course, they just do that to try to sell more product...which I have no problem with...But isn't that a bit confusing to the New Canslim student???
And as far as their Forum...Why don't they pay to have a moderator to guide things along? I've publically offered to accept the job for $250,000 yr...But the phone ain't ringin'. heck, I moderated the old Yahoo CanSlimStock Picks group for years with over 1,600 members...so I have experience...Although, to be honest...I'm the reason that the group fell apart...People didn't want to hear about all my Canslim bashing...I know that.
Then I have a problem paying all this money to IBD and they have a bunch of employees who have absolutely no idea what they are talking about...I've posted about the last 3 Trader's Expo's I went to...The latest one in December...They have these people working their booth that don't know the first thing about the products...You can rest assured that nobody who was around their booth bought anything when I was around...After hearing the nosensical anwers to my questions these these people were probably wondering to themselves..."What the heck is this all about"??? But I was just havin' a little fun. At the Chicago Expo they gave us a free book just to get rid of us...LOL
Well, I'm rambling...But as Mr. Market says..."There's more than one way to skin a cat"...And if you read what some of the members around here have to offer...You'll soon come to realize that...Best and welcome to the forum...Doug(IIC)

Thanks Doug for taking the time to explain.
I have discovered a lot of what you mentioned so I
guess you could say I'm not a strick Canslim follower
myself. I am still working on a trading style and my
education. Nothing like some serious losses to prompt
a person to learn all they can! I vow to never be that
ignorant again and I'm taking charge of $ myself!
Any recommendation on education / books?
I have read many books; a few are:
_Stan Weinstien
_all of WON's
_Toni Turner x 2
_ David Nassar
_ Stav
and actually a few more that I can't recall right at the moment.
The bookstore shelves are full but it's very hard to tell which are
the better ones. Any recommendations?
Thanks

To be honest I have not read that many stock books...I've read 4 of WONS...When How to... came out, I read it 7 times within a year. I read Toni's Beginner's Guide to Day Trading Online.
Also, and this book is pretty basic...But I liked it...here is an excerpt from my Mr. Breakout site (currently on hiatus since late Sept.) that I posted in October 2004:
There seems to be a lot of confusion regarding the Cup w/ Handle pattern and pivot points. I don't really know whose description is correct or if there really is a correct answer. The earliest reference I can find to this pattern is in a book called How Charts Can Help You In The Stock Market, By William Jiler, 1962. However, he describes it as a Saucer w/ Platform...but it is the same pattern.
Here's a few sites that offer C w/ H descriptions.
http://www.chartpattern.com/cup_handle.html (http://www.chartpattern.com/cup_handle.html)
http://www.haikulabs.com/mh.htm (http://www.haikulabs.com/mh.htm)
http://baresearch.com/education/technical_analysis/chart_patterns/continuation/cup_handle.php (http://baresearch.com/education/technical_analysis/chart_patterns/continuation/cup_handle.php)
O'Neil did not discover the Cup w/ Handle pattern as many believe...He just renamed it...A few years ago I tried to get everyone to use the S w/ P term...But it never really took off...I also ran a poll at a couple of other forums to rename Pivot Point...The winner was Flash Point with Action Point a close second...But again, guess I don't carry that much weight to change the world of investing...LOL...Doug(IIC)

Shadow, when you're ready to go beyond CANSLIM (which no longer works, IMO), head over to TradingMarkets.com and check out some of their books. The entire site is self-serving but the books are very informative. Dave Landry's books are excellent.
And another thing I don't like...How come I pay these guys 1,500 bux a year and every time I want to go to a different page I have to see this "Become a more successful investor in a single day" advertisement???...Then I have to click "Take me to the requested page" every time. Extremely annoying. I wouldn't mind this at a free site...but this is ludicrous...Doug
Here's an interesting read...it is for day trading but it is free. It is called "Trading The 10 O'clock Bulls"...it is 72 pages...1.334mb.
I will try to attach it here...but the attachment might not work...if it doesn't work then you can sign up for it here:

Oop's...tried to attach it but the file is too large...Doug(IIC)

Thanks Doug and Dave!
I appreciate the tips. This is the kind of help I need very much.
I appreciate all the stock tips on this site but I also want to
"learn to fish". I'll check all this info out.

I guess I must be beyond CANSLIM already. I have not purchased
a single stock that met the CS criteria. I'll check out the books!
Keep the ideas and tips coming!

No problem...but just remember...make changes slowly...You can take ideas you find from others and see if any of them might fit what you are trying to do...test them out...but develop your own style that you are comfortable with. I'm constantly reading other people's thoughts to see if they offer any ideas I might be able to use...But NEVER EVER try to copy someone...It never works...At least it never worked for me.
For example...I trade different styles depending on the $$$ amount and the goal on that particular trade. Some people trade the exact same way all the time...I personally know of no one who wants to day trade some of the ways I do. That doesn't mean there isn't anyone...It just means that I don't know them. Sometimes I think to myself..."Why not just trade news"? I almost always make money on news plays...Most of them last less than 5 minutes...But I've never had the guts to throw BIG bux at news...At least not yet...Best, Doug(IIC)

One of the best books I’ve read is called “Trade Your Way To Financial Freedom”, by Van K. Tharp. This book is a study book and not an easy read. It does not cover a bunch of fancy set-ups but explains one of the most important aspects of trading. In fact Tharp even mentioned that the set-up is 10% of the trade. He will explain how to manage your positions using several techniques. Many will shy away from this topic because I guess they feel it just isn’t important. Money management is by far the most important aspect in trading as far as I’m concerned.
